This meditation manual for Monks and Nuns was translated into English in this volume in 1745, by George Stanhope, DD Late Dean of Canterbury. He starts the translation with a Note to Her Royal Highness the Princess Anne of Denmark. Although the original cover has now been completely replaced, the book inside is the true copy that, for 269 years, has been used for its proper purpose - the study of meditation. All the old fashioned Fs instead of Ss, present throughout. Size 8vo. Condition very good, considering this book is 269 years old! Tightly and professionally bound in plain green cloth covered boards with no external text or embelishments of any kind. A few hand written notes in some of the margins.
